TDSO Gemstone Sodalite Dark & Gold D6 Dice
This is a standard 16mm 6 sided D6 Dice.
These are carved from real stone and are unlike any other dice and each set is individual. The numbers are laser engraved and hand painted with ink.
These are made for us at TheDiceShopOnline and are the best we have ever seen and are cut to a very high standard. As these are carved from stone, each set and dice is unique and vary slightly from the picture.
Material Properties:
Sodalite is a tectosilicate mineral with royal blue varieties widely used as an ornamental gemstone. Although sodalite samples are opaque, crystals can be transparent to translucent. Sodalite is a member of the sodalite group with hauyne, nosean, lazurite and tugtupite.
First discovered by Europeans in 1811 in the Ilimaussaq intrusive complex in Greenland, sodalite did not become important as an ornamental stone until 1891 when vast deposits of fine material were discovered in Ontario, Canada.
Well known for its blue color, sodalite is often mottled with white veins or patches. The more uniformly blue material is used in jewellery, where it is fashioned into cabochons and beads. Lesser material is more often seen as facing or inlay in various applications.
Although somewhat similar to lazurite and lapis lazuli, sodalite rarely contains pyrite (a common inclusion in lapis) and its blue color is more like traditional royal blue rather than ultramarine. It is further distinguished from similar minerals by its white (rather than blue) streak.
Mystical Prperties:
Sodalite brings order and calmness to the mind. It encourages rational thought, objectivity, truth and intuition, along with verbalisation of feelings. Sodalite brings emotional balance, It enhances self-esteem, self-acceptance and self-trust.
