Material Properties

Nephrite Jade is a type of jade that belongs to the amphibole group of minerals. It is one of the two recognized types of jade, the other being jadeite. Nephrite is a metamorphic rock composed mainly of calcium and magnesium-rich amphibole minerals, specifically tremolite or actinolite. Jade can come in various colours, the most prized colour is an intense, vibrant green.

It has a hardness ranging from 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale, making it durable enough for carving and crafting.
